This position reports to
Quality Manager
Your role and responsibilities
This position is responsible for performing raw material, product and process measurements, using various types of equipment to ensure all meet specifications. Will create and maintain reports, logs and presentations. Expected to clean, maintain and calibrate measuring and test equipment. Expected to be familiar with a variety of standard quality assurance concepts and practices. Contributes to a team-structured environment, and plays a key role in Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis projects. Continuous Improvement projects are supported by working with engineers, team leads and supervisors. Duties are accomplished with minimal assistance and supervision. Follows Safe Work practices and strive to improve the safety of the work environment Interprets product drawings and specifications, both customer's & ABB's Conducts and reports product and process audits Maintains logs, generates reports and maintains Process Quality Plan documentation Determines acceptability of reworked product Supports Corrective Action projects Demonstrates proficiency in mathematical and statistical functions related to these skills Applies Advanced Product Quality Planning practices, creating Process Flows, PFMEAs and Control Plans Communicates effectively with all levels of management, suppliers, customers and team members Interprets industry specifications and regulations related to product design and function Completes all agreed upon yearly objectives Seeks professional growth through education and training Completes all required Safety and Skills Training in a timely manner Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the role
- High School diploma required, 2 years of college degree in a technical field preferred. Nationally recognized Quality-related training preferred.
- ASQ Quality Technician Certification required within 1 year
- Minimum 3 to 5 years quality experience in manufacturing
- Blueprint reading, interpretation
- Proficient in general office programs including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of Problem Solving basics, i.e. Pareto charting, Fishbone diagram, 5Y, Correlation Statistics, etc.
- Knowledge of general Quality Management Systems; ISO9001, AS9001, etc.
- Understanding of Attribute and Variable Sampling Plans such as ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 & Z1.9
- Knowledge of MRP systems such as: LX, SAP
- Basic normal distribution statistics; capable of applying SPC
- Ability to work variable schedule with overtime as needed
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
