JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Berks Athletics Department is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as a Part-Time Administrative Support Specialist with a focus on financial operations. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and accurate management of the department's financial processes, supporting the success of student-athletes and athletic programs.

Job Duties
  • Assist in managing and reconciling departmental budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring financial compliance.

  • Process and maintain records of purchase orders, invoices, travel reimbursements, and other financial transactions.

  • Collaborate with the university's financial offices to ensure accuracy and adherence to policies.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial and administrative records.

  • Support general office functions, including scheduling, filing, and responding to inquiries.

  • Assist with special projects and events as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience in financial management, accounting, or administrative support.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • High attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field.

  • Experience in a university or athletics setting.

  • Familiarity with Penn State financial systems (e.g., SAP Concur).

Work Schedule and Compensation
  • This is a part-time opening, requiring approximately 20-24 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.

  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required based on departmental needs.

  • Hourly wage will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

  • Schedule can be in-person, remote, or hybrid.
