MINIMUM PAY RATE:$22.04 to $23.36 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary mission of the recruiter will be to assist prospective traditional and nontraditional students and members of the JJC enrollment market in learning about the college, the programs and services available for students, and to help them make the decision to enroll. This position will have the responsibility for recruiting high school and returning adult students in addition to assisting with implementation of the college's strategic enrollment management plan. This may involve assisting the Director in supervision and training of student staff. One of this position's requirements is a valid Driver's license for travelling to different campuses, transporting materials and setting up college displays on and off campus.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Establish and build strategic relationships with, and make recruiting visits to high schools and local businesses & organizations, in and out of district with the goal of recruiting both traditional and nontraditional students to JJC.
2.Responsible for developing, updating and executing high school-specific recruitment plans for assigned high schools.
3.Assist prospective students in understanding and completing the processes of application, matriculation and enrollment steps.
4.Recruit, interview, and hire student workers, and assist with training and managing the student workers. Assist recruitment coordinator with student ambassador program.
5.Assist director and recruitment coordinator to create a yearly recruitment plan; implement and execute the strategies within the recruitment plan; suggest improvements and recommendations to the plan. Establish and measure key data points to assess the effectiveness of the plan.
6.Organize, arrange and coordinate campus tours.
7.Major responsibilities for the organization, design, and execution of numerous on and off campus events such as Discover JJC, JJC College Fair, Joliet Chamber of Commerce Expo, Admissions Information Sessions, REACH Fairs for adult recruitment, specialized adult outreach events, etc.. Participate in College Fair Programs/events to recruit traditional and adult students.
8.Assist Director and Recruitment Coordinator with oral and written communications to high school counselors, prospects, applicants, and current students.
9.Work with appropriate departments to promote or increase enrollment in targeted markets. Establish collaborative partnerships with academic departments to do specialized recruitment activities as well as extended campuses that support adult specialized programs.
10.Assist with development and execution of recruitment communication documents (flyers, brochures, catalogs, class schedules, JJC web pages, social media platforms, etc.).
11.Compile and send information from a number of JJC departments for monthly newsletter (The Inside Scoop) to high school counselors and dual credit facilitators.
12.Manage the inventory of recruitment needs and materials.
13.Maintain databases, track recruiting activities, and generate monthly reports.

14.Actively seek out and participate in various on campus teams, task forces, etc.
15.Participate in achieving departmental and college goals and objectives.
16.Assist in coordinating applicant and prospective student calling campaigns each semester.
17.Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1.Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college or university.
2.One year of admissions and/or recruitment experience or related experience.
3.Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
4.Strong personal computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
5.Ability to independently manage the work day in the field with minimal or no supervision.
6.Extended evening and weekend hours are required during prime recruiting season
7.Uphold and follow college policy and federal law that protects the privacy of student's education records under FERPA Law.
8.Valid Illinois driver's license.
9.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
10.Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Two (2) years of previous recruitment experience with adult students and high school population in a higher education setting.

2. Knowledge and/or experience with Ellucian Colleague software.

3. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

4. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.
3. Ability to travel in state and nationally.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
2. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
