Volunteer Program Manager Help build lives and community by working with Chatham Habitat for Humanity (CHFH) to enable low-income families to achieve their dream of homeownership. Chatham Habitat for Humanity is located in Pittsboro, North Carolina and serves Chatham County. We build and sell homes with affordable mortgages to low-income families.
The Volunteer Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of Chatham Habitat's volunteer program, including recruitment and retention of volunteers, the development of community and corporate partnerships for special projects including an annual Raising Faith campaign, Collegiate Challenge, Women Build, and Care-A-Vanners as well as in-kind and financial donations to support those programs. The Volunteer Program Manager is a key member of Chatham Habitat's Development Department and as such is responsible for organization-wide communications tasks including social media posts, emails, and press releases. Qualifications: Applicants must have a strong belief in and commitment to the organization's mission and vision, have deep empathy for the people that Habitat serves, and have an understanding of the relationship of housing insecurity and poverty to a systemically unjust US housing policy framework. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a flexible and adaptable work style with the ability to work some nights and weekends, an ability to manage competing demands and work independently without close oversight. Must be creative and adaptable, with a sense of humor and optimism. Must have the ability to work effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and donors regardless of their economic status, ethnicity, race, gender, gender identity, education level, or sexual orientation. This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday) with relatively frequent evening and weekend responsibilities. Salary is 34-38K with full benefits (details available upon request).
