Description

As part of our Teen Program Staff at the Cape Ann YMCA, you'll play a key role in fostering an inclusive and engaging space for local middle and high school students. Our programs offer teens opportunities to participate in positive, enriching activities outside of school hours. On a typical day, you'll:



  • Build authentic and trusting relationships with youth and teens.
  • Provide guidance and support to participants.
  • Develop and lead innovative youth and leadership programs that help teens reach their full potential.
  • Supervise and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as drop-in basketball, e-sports, and more.


What You Bring to the Role:



  • Experience managing and guiding teens through challenging behaviors, with a focus on helping them recognize their value and potential.
  • A natural ability to mentor and serve as a positive role model.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging in activities that inspire skill-building and growth.
  • Previous experience in customer service or working directly with youth in an instructional or recreational setting.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to handle unexpected situations with professionalism and care.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older
  • 15-20 hours a week
  • Shifts are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 2pm to 8pm. There may be an opportunity for additional hours during school vacation weeks and early release days.



ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS



  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs
  • Physically and mentally acts appropriately and immediately to unexpected circumstances
