As a Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) staff professional for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll be presented with a diverse workload. Opportunities will include field work related to construction inspections and erosion and sediment control inspections. There will also be an office component focused on documentation of material certifications and pay item quantities observed during inspections and other TDOT policy documentation.

Interested candidates should have a strong interest in working outside (including regularly walking on uneven, slick terrain and working in inclement weather conditions), strong communication skills, a willingness to learn new skills, and an ability to thrive in a team environment as well as independently with a diverse workload.



Qualifications

    High School Diploma minimum, B.S. in Civil Engineering or a Related Discipline preferred;
  • 1 to 10 years of experience in a CEI related field or combination of experience and education;
  • TDEC Level 1 Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months;
  • Proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel a plus;
  • 10 Hour OSHA Construction training a plus or ability to obtain within 6 months;
  • TDOT Technician Certifications in Aggregates, Concrete Field, Asphalt Roadway and Asphalt Plant preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months;
  • Ability to travel periodically with expenses reimbursed;
  • Ability to regularly lift 25 lbs. and occasionally 50 lbs.;
  • Proficiency in math and geometry for area and volume calculations of material quantities;
  • Possession of a valid state issued driver's license;
  • Experience with ASSHTOWare SiteManager a plus
