Overview

Virginia Oncology Associates, the largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders, has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Outpatient Transplant RN to support our office in Norfolk.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of autologous stem cell transplant and CAR-T processes as well as certain disease staging associated with those processes.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and follow-through as seen by timely and appropriate submission to CIBMTR registry.
  • Provides expertise and advice regarding CIBMTR standards and requirements for the IEC program. Acts as a liaison with CIBMTR.
  • Provides advice and helps implement changes in the IEC program to comply with CIBMTR requirements.
  • Assists with Quality Management activities such as chart audits and other data retrieval for the IEC Program.
  • Verifies accuracy of patient's disease status and risk assessments per CIBMTR guidelines.
  • Assumes responsibility for own professional development and maintenance of professional knowledge and skills relevant to stem cell transplantation and the CAR-T process.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of CIBMTR requirements.

Qualifications

  • Nursing degree (BSN preferred)
  • Minimum three years medical/surgical nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.
  • Current RN state license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Must be willing to travel between offices as needed.
