DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an intern in this position, you will have the chance to acquire experience in multiple facets of geological data management, research, and field activities. This program will involve supporting staff geologists in the organization and analysis of scanned subsurface geological documents and digital data for the Exploration and Development Well Information Network (EDWIN). This crucial task guarantees the timely completion of data management efforts and aids bureau personnel in assessing the conditions of orphaned and abandoned wells, as well as identifying subsurface geological storage possibilities in Pennsylvania. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time internship that will last from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a two-year degree, bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following acceptable majors: Geology Biological Sciences/Ecology/Marine Science Earth Science Environmental Science An approved major course which includes a qualifying 24 credit hours of study in the physical, biological and environmental sciences may be acceptable. Freshman year completed. Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university Additional Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
