Description

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for training, management and development of the New England Revolution Academy team. The position will work very closely with the Director of Youth Development as well as the other Revolution Academy coaches. This position requires a strong work ethic, a high level of coaching experience along with strong communication and time management skills. The position will require travel and time commitments that include evenings and weekends throughout the course of the season.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  1. Coordinate, plan and execute high-level, age-appropriate training sessions for elite youth players in accordance with Revolution Academy curriculum, methods, and process.
  2. Select and manage team throughout 10-month US Soccer DA season as well as any other MLS programming.
  3. Work in concert with the Director of Youth Development to institute appropriate content, teaching pedagogy and athletic/mental load for each session in accordance with annual training plan.
  4. Work in concert with the Director of Academy Scouting and other staff coaches to identify, develop and select potential players.
  5. Communicate with and manage assistant coaches to coordinate all aspects of training, teaching and development of all Academy players.
  6. Establish clear and effective lines of communication with players and families to assist in their development in preparation for advancement within the Revolution Academy structure.
  7. Other administrative or coaching duties can and will be assigned by Director of Youth Development including, but not limited to: team travel logistics, player registration, video editing, equipment ordering and inventory, assisting with other Academy teams, constructing and instituting individual player plans (IPP) and player evaluations.
  8. Special projects and assignments as business dictates
  9. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPPA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • High-Level Coaching experience required
  • High Level Coaching Certification (US Soccer)
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience
  • Must be well organized and able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and have a sense of accountability
  • Able to travel and work nights/weekends as needed
  • Dependable, trustworthy with strong interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable exchanging and challenging ideas with peers on a regular basis
  • Must have attention to detail and focused concentration
  • Must be able to learn new tasks and complete tasks independently
  • Must be able to make timely decisions in the context of the workflow
  • Must possess strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and responsiveness



PHYSICAL DEMANDS



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle or feel.
