Job Overview

The Master Scheduler is responsible for providing guidance for the planning/scheduling of product line areas as well as serving as a mentor to a team of local production planners. The individual will also oversee inventory control activities for the Lincoln, Littleton, and Londonderry manufacturing facilities. The individual serves as a critical member of the plant leadership team by providing oversite of plant activities related to material flow and customer service. Provides leadership influence to help assure facility goals are met related to safety, quality, productivity, and customer service. Develops, implements, and maintains programs designed to reduce costs, improve inventory turns, and optimize customer service levels. Leads, develops and supports all assigned personnel to maximize their contribution to the success of the business. This position will work closely with the production supervisors/managers as well as divisional teams to ensure execution of effective planning/scheduling and sourcing decisions to meet customer expectations. The successful individual will also work to develop local talent and serve as a role model for the department by leading in a positive and constructive manner. Reporting to this person will be a Data Analyst resource along with indirect reporting of Supply Planning.

A Day In The Life

Duties and Responsibilities

* Ensure production processes align with company goals and inventory levels. Optimizing resource utilization and minimizing costs while meeting customer demands.

* Serves as a member of the business leadership team - provides management and support necessary to achieve initiatives and objectives.

* Travel between the three facilities frequently to ensure training, development and execution of objectives.

* Provides direction for team - partnering with demand and production planning /operations /customer service to drive throughput in the plants.

* Leads project management initiatives to support plant improvements.

* Maintain accurate production lead times, minimum order quantities and schedules in SAP.

* Manages all aspects of the production schedule to ensure capacity planning and appropriate inventory levels with integrity to maintain stock items and that made-to-order products are produced in a timely manner.

* Establishes and adheres to performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of plant performance.

* Uses business analytics, SAP, visual management for increased efficiency and adherence to schedule.

* Owns reporting such as exception messages, adherence to plan, supply plan.

* Supports engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.

* Ensure SAP is driving purchasing and manufacturing demand accurately to fulfill forecast and customer requirements.

* Oversee Planning Parameters as changes in business conditions warrant (make-to-buy, factory responsibility, process lanes, inventory location management) to achieve supply chain efficiencies, service & inventory objectives.

* Leverage industry best planning practices to continually improve the process.

Day In The Life

* Daily Communication with manufacturing locations

* Balancing supply and demand, coordinating resources, and predicting production outcomes

* Weekly Interaction with Demand Planning and Product Mgrs. regarding forecasted demand and anticipated orders

* Frequent Communication with Plant Leadership Teams concerns and trends

* Reviewing data daily to capture opportunities for improvements

* Employ Strategic thinking and develop long-term solutions to issues

* Reports directly to Plant Mgr. with a Matrix reporting relationship to other Site Leads

What will help you thrive in this role?

Skills and Experience

* 4-year degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or similar

* Strong ability to work with multiple departments at various facilities

* APICs Certification strongly preferred

* Proficient skills and knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system

* Strong interpersonal skills for relationship management with internal/external business partners.

* Analytical thinking to analyze and use critical thinking skills on a regular basis.

* Creative thinking for outside the box, coming up with new solutions to old problems.

* Presentation skills for clear/concise communication of information to peers & management.

* Strong computer skills required:

o MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level) & Teams

o Strong SAP (or similar) user/experience

o Power BI or other Reporting software
