This role will be the leader on the team responsible for making this happen. You will help us build the plan, implement the tools and foster our engineering teams through the journey to become the most secure development environment. You Will: (Responsibilities)



  • Lead the team responsible for building a world-class product security function, supporting a step change in the maturity of our program
  • Own Product and Application Security strategy and priorities
  • Partner with our engineering and development team leaders in order to drive higher quality and more secure applications.
  • Determine the skill sets needed on the team, develop and execute a hiring plan.
  • Coach and build a team of exceptional Security Engineers, supporting their growth.
  • Present of the maturity, progress and roadmap for the Product & Application Security Program for stakeholders.
  • Be an active voice, not just at Datavant but in the community to evangelize best security practices.


You Will Bring to the Table:



  • 5 or more years of experience leading Product or Application Security capabilities.
  • Understanding of current threats, vulnerabilities and risks and how to mitigate them.
  • Understanding of security impacts and controls for applications in cloud environments (AWS)
  • Passionate about building a big business that transforms the healthcare industry
  • Thrive in a fast-paced autonomous environment.
  • Excited about the ambiguity of an entrepreneurial, rapidly growing company, and able to juggle many projects and responsibilities
  • Great communication, prioritization, and project management skills.


90 Day Objectives:



  • Review, improve and ratify our Product Security vision, strategy and goals for 2025.
  • Develop a talent plan that defines growth of existing team members and hiring plan for new roles to complement and enhance the capacity of the team.
  • Establish a plan for a Data Security capability within the team.
  • Strengthen relationships and shared expectations between Product Security and Engineering/Product Managers.
  • Build engagement with the Product Team and establish a roadmap for Product Security Features.
  • Review and guide the team's "Way of Working" to improve management of work, inbound requests, tracking and reporting progress towards goals.
  • Take ownership of Hiring Manager for Application and Product Security. Review the current interview loop and re-launch with an updated loop to ensure we are seeking the right mix of talent on the team.

The range posted is for a given job title, which can include multiple levels. Individual rates for the same job title may differ based on their level, responsibilities, skills, and experience for a specific job. The estimated base salary range for this role is $245,000-$310,000.
