Compensation: $21+ hour depending on experience and qualifications. Daily per diem of $55+/day for travel days (Lodging expenses covered).

Our stormwater technicians perform routine inspections at gas stations, hotels and properties across NC and SC. Technicians also assist with the maintenance to existing stormwater assets on client properties, so they are environmentally compliant. In this role, you will learn how to lead, direct, and perform routine maintenance on client properties.

Your Responsibilities as a Stormwater Technician / Equipment Operator:



  • Perform stormwater system inspections and condition assessments.
  • Provide routine cleanup, maintenance, and light repairs of stormwater infrastructure including retention ponds, detention basins, drainage ditches, stormwater grates and other stormwater assets.
  • Perform mowing, weed-trimming, debris removal, ground maintenance and cleanup, light construction, and maintenance repairs for properties as directed.
  • Operate landscaping and light construction equipment (such as skid steers, mini-excavators.) Maintain equipment storage and trailers. Ability to work with hand tools.
  • Responsible for preparing reports and documenting work in the field using Apex proprietary systems.
  • Learn stormwater management techniques, water compliance rules, regulations, and construction management techniques.
  • Comply with all safe work practices and complete your work in safe manner.

What we're looking for:



  • High School Diploma or GED. Associates degree and any other technical or secondary education is a plus.
  • Experience with outdoor labor including, but not limited to: landscaping, construction, grounds maintenance and repair, or similar work.
  • Confined space entry certification a plus.
  • Able to perform manual labor.
  • Stable employment history and favorable employment references.
  • Track record of excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation preferred. Company vehicle available for site work.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background and drug screenings.
  • Ability to travel throughout the division (NC, SC, GA, TN) approximately 50% with occasional travel throughout the Southeast (5-10%)
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic functions of bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, balancing, walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing. Must be able to perform work exerting up to up to 60 pounds of force; and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must possess visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to operate machines and tools such as mowers and weed whackers to perform tasks. Able to work in confined spaces and under a variety of weather conditions.
