Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys using various instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and digital levels.
  • Gather data on land boundaries, topography, and other geographic features for mapping and property assessment purposes.
  • Process and analyze survey data to create accurate maps, charts, and reports.
  • Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create precise drawings and plans based on survey data.
  • Assist in defining property boundaries and easements.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey activities, including field notes, photographs, and survey reports.
  • Ensure that survey work complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Verify the accuracy and quality of survey work to minimize errors and discrepancies.
  • Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and provide updates on survey progress.
  • Work closely with senior surveyors, engineers, and other professionals to support project objectives.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior survey technicians and office staff as needed.


Qualifications

  • AS degree or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • LSIT Licensed, PLS a plus
  • 2-5 years of experience in land surveying and mapping
  • 1-3 years of project management preferred.
  • Strong technical skills in operating survey instruments. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant surveying software and equipment (TopoDot, LiDAR, OpenRoads, and ortho imagery, automatic features extraction)
  • Must be proficient in the use of total stations, GPS receivers and data collectors, and GPS reduction software.
  • Experience in the use of 3D LiDAR Scanning (Static, Mobile, etc.) data registration/extraction
  • UAV / UAS operation, data acquisition, and data reduction experience a plus

The pay range for this California position is $45.00- $60.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
