Senior Internal Audit Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As a Senior Internal Auditor at ABB, you will have the opportunity to provide guidance on financial accuracy, internal controls, and regulatory compliance for the relevant entity. Each day, you will leverage a systematic and disciplined approach to examine records and prepare reports that aim to improve operating practices, and financial and risk management processes for the organization. You will also showcase your expertise by evaluating financial documents for accuracy and compliance with regulations according to audit plan. Travel in this role is critical - and candidates need to be able to travel (both domestically and internationally) around 60-65% of the year.
This team is based in Cary, NC, and this role requires someone capable of working onsite (#LI-Onsite) in the office in Cary when not traveling.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Participating in and/or lead operational and financial audits for different business processes, leading smaller audits; Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting documents/information to arrive at audit result, and prepares documentation in accordance with ABB Audit procedures and standards; documenting audit findings, risks and recommendations, preparing audit reports and communicating audit results to Internal Audit Manager.
- Participating in compliance audits/reviews and prepares documentation in accordance with ABB Audit procedures and standards; documenting findings and risks and assist in compliance report preparation.
- Providing input as applicable to global framework/guidelines (practice) for a defined business process.
- Ensuring (with HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is organized, staffed, skilled and directed.

Qualifications for the role
  • University degree in business administration / economics or engineering and minimum 5 years' experience in Audit or University degree and 5 years of strong ABB operational professional experience in Finance or Supply Chain.
  • Ability to travel 60% to 65% and be out of state or country for 3 weeks at a time.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, proficiency in English. Strong analytical and IT skills.
  • Preferably CIA / CISA / CPA certification. Preferably international business experience. Fluent in Spanish or French is a plus.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
