Description

Summary:

The RF DAS Technician plays a pivotal role in troubleshooting and designing BDA/DAS systems for radio and wireless communication solutions. Operating at a Tier 1 level, this position may involve international travel. A valid passport is required for international work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of hands-on installation experience in the field of radio and communication with a deep understanding of two-way radio theory and communication systems.
  • Proficiency in programming, troubleshooting, and conducting system diagnostics for both simple and complex radio systems.
  • Competence in utilizing industry-standard test equipment, including service monitors/analyzers, watt meters, and various hand tools.
  • Knowledge of battery backup systems, base stations, repeaters, duplexers, and basic networking skills.
  • Proficiency in computer operations, including the Microsoft Office suite and specialized radio programming software.
  • Strong background in RF Theory.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.



Responsibilities:




  • Repair and provide technical support and documentation for Low Band, VHF/UHF, and 800/900 MHz analog and digital systems, mobile and portable subscriber equipment, simulcast, conventional, trunking, paging, telemetry, and microwave systems.
  • Installation, maintenance, and repair of base systems, repeaters, remote controls, multiplexers, antenna systems, microwave systems, battery backup systems, and solar power systems.
  • Install and maintain dispatch console equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair PA systems, BDA/DAS systems, and other electronic components.
  • Assist in training junior technicians and provide leadership within the team.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned.


Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

An Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or vocational school in electronics and wireless system repair.

One to two years of related work experience in electronic communications repair or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certifications:

Preferred certifications include an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, CET (ETA), or equivalent industry certification.

A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and the ability to pass a background check are required.
