Overview

As a Geotechnical Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants Inc. (CEC) in our Pittsburgh, PA Corporate office, you'll be working on a team responsible for the geotechnical engineering aspects of real estate, manufacturing, renewable energy, natural gas, utility infrastructure, and solid waste landfill projects. This includes the investigation and design of building foundations, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, landslide repairs, and pavements, as well as field construction monitoring for these projects. You will coordinate or monitor subsurface drilling, obtain soil and rock samples, prepare boring logs, develop laboratory testing programs, interpret laboratory data, perform geotechnical analyses, and prepare geotechnical reports. This role will also include field construction monitoring and testing of earthwork, foundations, slope stabilization, retaining walls, and pavements.



Qualifications

    B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geology, with courses in Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred).
  • 0-4 years of consulting experience.
  • Ability to speak and write professionally.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the desire to learn quickly and succeed professionally.
  • Valid driver's license
  • E.I.T. preferred.
