Summary of Position
The Department of Kinesiology at the University of New Hampshire invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Exercise Science major and Director of the UNH Employee Fitness Program to start August 2025. Salary is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical, dental, retirement, tuition, and paid time off. Candidates must have strong evidence of successful teaching at the university level as the principal instructor. The teaching responsibilities related to this position may include fitness and graded exercise testing, exercise prescription for both general and special populations, biomechanics of exercise and exercise science laboratory courses.

In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level other duties include involvement in academic advising of undergraduate students, supervising undergraduate and graduate students in clinical activities and research, and directing and expanding both the UNH Employee Fitness Center and Employee Fitness Program. The Employee Fitness Program offers exercise programming and one-on-one exercise training for benefits-eligible faculty and staff, provided by the students of the Exercise Science program as their capstone experience. Under the guidance of the faculty member, students conduct health screenings, fitness testing, and metabolic, cardiac and pulmonary testing prior to and after the development and implementation of exercise training programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating student staffing in the Employee Fitness Center, managing and mentoring students through their capstone experience and the recruitment of clients for the Employee Fitness Program. Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or a related area. Candidates should have a minimum of four years experience working in clinical exercise physiology (e.g. stress testing, cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation), or personal training, strength and conditioning, and fitness settings with a leadership role. Preferred certifications would include the ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist or NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist or other similar accredited certifications. Experience in development, management, and growth of supervised exercise programs desired.
