NV5 is actively searching for a Principal Remediation Engineer who will primarily concentrate on fostering growth, cultivating client connections, overseeing teams, and acting as a proficient specialist in the realm of remediation engineering and design. This position involves collaborating with a wide range of clients from various sectors, such as industrial, healthcare, biotech, education, development, and municipal.

The ideal candidate in this position possesses a strong background in applying various remedial technologies, including Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE), Air Sparging, Dual Phase Extraction (DPE), in-situ bioremediation, In-Situ Chemical Oxidation, groundwater extraction and treatment, dig and haul, and waste disposal/waste characterization.

Desirable qualifications include a deep understanding of remedial construction techniques, along with an extensive knowledge of applicable regulatory frameworks like MTCA, RCRA, and CERCLA. Proficiency in addressing various contaminants commonly encountered in site remediation, such as petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated compounds, metals, PFAS, PCBs, dioxins and furans, and other common compounds, is also expected. Responsibilities

  • Innovate and Lead: Develop and evaluate cutting-edge remedial alternatives, complete comprehensive options analyses, and prepare impactful Feasibility Studies.
  • Design Excellence: Craft detailed design plans and specifications for selected remedial alternatives, prepare competitive bid documents, and expertly evaluate bids and contractor selection.
  • Project Mastery: Oversee the installation and construction of remedial actions and manage the operation of advanced environmental remediation systems.
  • Field Leadership: Lead and oversee extensive field studies, data gathering, and sampling activities, including soil & groundwater sampling, indoor air quality assessments, vapor intrusion assessments, and hydrogeological data evaluation.
  • Client Engagement: Develop and nurture strong client relationships through consultative technical sales, driving significant business growth.
  • Mentorship and Growth: Mentor and provide leadership to technical staff, fostering their career growth as subject matter experts.
  • Strategic Management: Evaluate remedial progress data, adjust strategies, manage project schedules and budgets, and supervise and mentor mid/junior level staff & field personnel.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in chemical, civil, environmental engineering, or a related engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Master's degree a plus
  • 15+ years of consulting experience, demonstrating expertise in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) Registration in Washington State or registration in Geology (LG) or Hydrogeology (LHG) is REQUIRED.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Communication Pro: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report, project and client management, and proposal preparation.
  • Seller-Doer: Looking for a proactive individual who can drive business growth through an organic and consultative sales approach.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong writing and analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in project team management oversight and leadership.

The pay range for this Washington position is $170,000.00 - $195,000.00 per year, based on the job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. NV5 may provide restricted stock units, sign-on bonuses, stay bonuses, or relocation allowances as part of the compensation package. Medical, dental, and vision insurance are also offered to full-time employees, along with Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts, with employee and employer contributions. 3 weeks of Paid Time Off a year for full-time employees along with 8 paid holidays a year. 401(k) savings plan; company-paid basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment insurance; Company Paid Short-term and long-term disability insurance are also provided.
